TOUR #: FOB0501 Mon, May 1st: JFK/CDG - Depart JFK on your overnight flight to Paris. Dinner served in flight. Tue, May 2nd: Paris - Upon arrival in Paris, you are transferred to your hotel. After time to rest we have a panorama of the city. We stop at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart for Mass. Wed, May 3rd: Paris/Nevers/Paray Le Monial - Morning departure to Paray Le Monial. En route we stop at Rue du Bac to see the incorrupt body of St. Catherine Laboure. After our visit, we depart to Nevers where we see the incorrupt body of St. Bernadette. After Mass and lunch at the Convent of St. Gildard, we continue to Paray Le Monial for a visit of the city of the Sacred Heart. It was here that Our Lord appeared to St. Margaret Mary and showed her his Sacred Heart. Thu, May 4th: Paray Le Monial/Lourdes - Early morning departure to Lourdes. We arrive in the late afternoon and check into our hotel. After dinner we will join the “Candlelight Procession” Fri, May 5th: Lourdes - During our stay in Lourdes, we will visit places associated with Saint Bernadette. We have a walking tour of the Basilica and Grotto. In the afternoon we visit the city including Boly Mills and the Church where St. Bernadette was baptized. Sat May 6th: Lourdes/Nice - This morning we depart to Nice. Upon arrival in Nice we are transferred to our hotel. The remainder of the day is free to explore Nice on our own. Sun, May 7th: Nice/Padua - Early morning departure to Padua. Late afternoon arrival in Padua. Upon arrival we go to the Basilica of St. Anthony for Mass and to visit the Tomb of St. Anthony. Mon, May 8th: Venice - Morning transfer to Venice for our short cruise along the Grand Canal to the Church of St. Geremenia and St. Lucy for Mass and to view the body of St. Lucy. Next to St. Marks Square for a tour including St. Marks Basilica with its Byzantine and European architectural styles and dazzling mosaics. We stop to pray at the tomb of St. Mark before continuing our walking tour of Venice. We will have free time for lunch (on our own) and shopping before our late afternoon return to Padua. Tue, May 9th: Padua/Florence - Morning departure to Florence for a city tour that highlights many of the city’s priceless treasures including the Piazza del Duomo, center of religious life in medieval Florence. We visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. Next we see the Baptistery with its’ masterfully crafted bronze doors – Michaelangelo declared them the “Gate of Paradise.” We have Mass at the Church of Santa Croce. Wed, May 10th: Florence/Assisi - Departure through the, beautiful, Tuscan and Umbrian countryside to the medieval city of Assisi where we visit the Basilicas of St. Francis and St. Clare, to see the Tombs of the two Saints. Next we visit the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli where we see the Porziuncola (the little church St. Francis built). Thu, May 11th: Assisi/ San Giovanni Rotondo - Morning departure to San Giovanni Rotondo. Upon arrival, we visit Padre Pio’s Tomb and Cell before visiting the English Office at Santa Maria delle Grazie to hear about the life of Padre Pio. Fri, May 12th: St Michaels Cave - This Morning we visit St. Michael’s Cave, where St. Michael the Archangel appeared to the local bishop and declared: “I am the Archangel Michael and am always in the presence of the Lord.” After our visit we return to San Giovanni Rotondo. Sat, May 13th: San Giovanni Rotondo/Pietrelcina/Sorrento - Morning departure to Sorrento. En route we stop at Piana Romana to visit the place where Padre Pio received the invisible stigmata. Upon arrival in Pietrelcina, we have Mass at Santa Maria degli Angeli. After Mass we tour the birthplace of Padre Pio. After our visit, we continue to Sorrento. This evening we have a walking tour of Sorrento. Sun, May 14th: Sorrento - This morning we go to Pompeii for Mass and to visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary. We return to Sorrento for a free day or to join an optional tour to Capri. Mon, May 15th: Sorrento/Rome - Morning departure to Rome. Upon arrival in Rome we are transferred to our hotel. Tue, May 16th: Rome - Today we visit St. Peter’s Basilica, St Mary Major, St John Lateran and St Paul Outside the Walls. Wed May 17th: Vatican City This morning we go to St. Peter’s Square to attend the Papal Audience (provided the Holy Father is in residence). Remainder of the day is free. Thu, May 18th: Rome/USA - Depart to Rome airport for your return flight to the USA. |
